Thanks....always liked the retro look. Air box is growing on me now!
Where did you get the derby cover. My bike looks plain after looking at the "103" on the old bike, looking for something to dress it up with other than the standard H-D stuff.
FYI, you need an Ultra wiring harness to mount the boom Audio in the lower fairings..
Hopefully somone will make a kit to mount powered speakers in the lowers without needing the HD Ultra wiring harness...
The stock speakers are very good out the box. I had the Boom upgrade in the last bike....these are much better. Speakers are in an enclosed box, so sound is crisp and clean, and fuller bass (yes, bass!)
I did get the 6.5" Boom speakers for this bike. Opened up the fairing Sunday morning for a quick install...NOT!
There are about 10 bolts (3 different sizes, torx and hex head) some tucked in back. Not a quick 5 minute switch like the older bikes!
So the older style lowers fit?? Interesting. The guys at the dealer were under the assumption from training videos that the shape and angle of the crash bar had changed. Before you put them on did you get any buffeting from under the fairing???
Hard to tell if there was buffeting from the lower area. Most of the ride back was with the wind at my back (40 mph with 60 mph gusts). As soon as I got home the lowers went on and the old C&C fastback seat.
I was hoping the lowers fit. Played with the ones on the Ultra, very hard to open and close vent. The glovebox door has a push to release, and had to push very hard to close. Took 2 or 3 tries to close them. I love my magnetic flaps. Just flip them up and they are closed.
So, you bought a Street Glide and basically turned it into an Ultra Classic? Don't get me wrong, it looks nice, but I kinda prefer the low profile look that the SG was designed to have.
Yeah but if he took that stuff off it would just be "AnotherBlackSG"....

Thanks! Its now a collectors item, the guy that did them died a few years ago. You might check back with his wife, she may still have one, but temper your expectations. Its really a great piece, very substantial and the chrome that comprises the image is raised, very very nice.
