Default Running Temps....?

Maybe this is just one of those things where you don't realize it till you start monitoring it....but holy **** my bike run hot! I just put a new exhaust, intake and a tuner on my '13 SG. I set my gauges up on my PV to show head temp. I hit 300 degrees! Holy **** that's hot! Do these things really run that hot or is something seriously wrong here? That temp was hit during a 100 degree day in the Oklahoma panhandle riding in town. Running down the road at 80 mph in 100 degree heat I was running around 280 degrees.

I hear you on the monitoring of the head temp- 2 weeks ago with 90 degree heat on a poker run crept up to 282 degrees, had some lights, slow speed, and had to sit for a little bit at idle saw temp @ 348! Fry an egg with that.

I was in the same boat. Using my power vision to monitor temps. I was hitting 290 running down the highway at 75mph with outside temps of 90 degrees. Local driving i was at 300-310. I said wow thats hot. Thats running V&H dresser dual header, slipons, and screaming eagle air cleaner. Also after 5 auto tune runs.
