I had the two whips on the back, changed it out to an inner fairing antenna, reception not as good...but I cover my bike every nite and I was sick of dealing with getting the cover over them.

Short antennas from Custom Dynamics is an option ... They are great people to deal with and stand behind their products.

i replaced the stock whip because it didnt pick up well and it was in the way walking around the bike. i put a billet kuryakyn on it and the reception is pretty much the same. im goin to put a hidden antenna on it this weekend and a inline antenna booster and see how that works. let ya know after some testing

Try the J&M FLEXPOWER™ AM/FM/WB In-Fairing Antenna. I hear great things about them and will be installing one as soon I get back from Afghanistan.

I had the "shorty" J&M antennas on my 08 Ultra and they performed about the same as the stockers. The up side to them was you didn't get whacked by them each time you walked around behind the bike.

The 7 dollar rubber duckies from the parts store work the same as the 26 dollar HD version. Right now I'm running the clipped down stocker. (this should be obvious but clip off the excess from the bottom) It's about the same as the short rubber ones.

I used this method and it gets same reception as before. Plug is a couple bucks from hd. I zip tied mine in a couple of places to keep it away from the belt.

I used one of these in my dragonfly fairing on my old RK. I'll be putting the same one in my SG when I get around to it.
