i don't think he meant with the lids hanging wide open, just not latched completely.

i don't see how this could add any stress to any other part.

Might as well undo your gas cap to take pressure off the seal. I guess I'm on the a-hole list too.

AAAHHHH,they're vented. Sometimes a pic is worth a thousand words tho!LOL

Not ashamed to say,I did the same thing! I put a note on the seat to remind to latch. I know that will give alot of the experts somethin to naw on.

I always unlock them to take the stress off the lock (and it must help because ive never had trouble with a lock)but never thought to unlatch them... now i will have to re-latch and re-lock........
