Noticed my Clutch Cable no longer has 1/8" slack in it. My question is; can I just adjust the Cable so that I have between 1/16" to 1/8" gap without adjusting the Clutch or do I need to adjust the Clutch as well?
Where did the slack go? Did some one else adjust it for you? I always used a dime (American currency) for the distance at the handle. A cheap go/no-go gauge. Just do the cable adjustment.
Cable can be adjusted separately. How long has it been since a full clutch adjustment was done?
I've had the bike since new. 09 UCEG. 66,000 kM (41,000 Miles) As far as I know it's never been adjusted. I don't notice any slippage from the clutch just the gap is a lot less than 1/16".
I believe a full clutch adjustment is in order. It doesn't seem right to have so little play in the lever.
I have 65K+ on my 06' and haven't felt the need to adjust anything as of yet. Their is a tad bit of extra play in the cable, but the clutch has been right on the four years I've had the bike. I've put on 53K+ of those miles. It believe it will still bark a tire.

JMO, if it was me, I'd do a full adjustment...especially @ 41K w/prior adjustments probably completed @ routine service interval(s). This way all is fresh...
