Default LRS Measuring ?

Are the shield heights measured from the center mounting bolt or from the top edge of the fairing??

Also, say you have a 8" shield now, would the recurve in a 7" be about the same for protection considering the recurve edge?

yes its measured from center bolt, youre supposed to take a level from youre lip nose aera ,then measure to center bolt, would help for another pair of hands, to get the size u need, im 5' 9" on an 07 sg with a 7" med tint an 8" was too high for me when you settle in or lean back was right in eye sight. bud

Settles that, I'm the same height and was looking at the med tint......but I see you can't get the med tint with the shield that's on sale....go figure...

If you do a lot of 2up riding, unless you want something a little more radical, look at the "flat top". I got a 10in medium tint for when the wife is on, and she loves it. I look over it unless I want to take advantage of the tint riding into the sun...and have a 9in x-stream for solo trips...awesome shields, and wonderful folks to deal with!

Follow their instructions for measuring and you can't go wrong.

I agree with both of ya, if you ride a lot at nite? might want the light tint, if I were riding late at nite I would of went llite tint, the flat top works great for passanger cut a lot of buffeting. bud

LRS shields are about 3/8" taller than what they state, be careful. I had to buy a second one because of this.

That's lovely.....My current half moon shield is 9" measured from the center bolt and I can look over it. So the 8" measured from the bolt should be OK....I just wished James would have told me about the extra 3/8", I would have maybe gone with the 7"......

On yours, you should have called them on the extra 3/8" and demanded a new shield on the house at the height you requested. I asked James about the trial deal if I wasn't happy and he said that if the protective paper is removed, they won't take it back.UMMMMMMM..... I hope I made the right decision buying two shields..

All of these questions are answered on the LRS website. They have explanations as to how to measure for the right shield height and a video as well...
