I just picked up a set of 255 cams to install. I have watched some videos on youtube and read through some forums and decided to tackle this project myself. I am going to use my stock pushrods. Yes i know it is more work, but all I have is time and I don't mind the bonding time with my bike. I will feel better about not having any parts to come loose in the valve train and it will save me from having to buy $100 set of pushrods. I have searched and searched but I cant seem to find a step by step thread someone has created for a cam install from the top end removing the rocker boxes. Can someone point me to one???
I've never done it, scares me to death what hides behind the cam cover. But when I did my lifters, I watched a couple of youtube videos on cam changing, but i only watched the cutting of the pushrods. I'm sure there is something on youtube.

Thanks in advance fellas!
This is not the exact video, but is part of a series. I would let this guy work on mine. I bet you can find what you need in this series.
But just follow the manual and put things back together just like you took it apart. Digital camera? take pictures that you can refer back to. I have gotten to where I take pictures of stuff as I take it apart.
One other tip is to google/you tube big bore install/107 install those videos will show rocker box and heads removal and install.
Good luck but you could do the whole cam job in 6-8 hrs by cutting push rods.
this would be closer. He does stage 1,2, and 3. Stage 3 covers a big bore kit but covers what it takes to remove and replace the top end. Enjoy, take lots of photos and keep us informed.
Nothing really tricky doing the rockers. Gaskets and torque the bolts. May want to replace the breathers while you're there? Sorry on cam choice...
another thing you want to do while you're in there is under the breather are 2 .060" oil drain holes. Drill those out to 1/8" and then taper the hole with a 1/4" bit.
Here's a pic of mine.
