Does anyone know where to buy these things?? I have looked and looked and can't find them. I have found the whole tensioner but not just the plastic piece... Obviously the stealership would have them but trying to avoid driving 100 miles round trip to pickup something I should be able to order online.
Assuming its for your 08? Nobody sells just the pad. I replaced mine with Zippers new dual piston setup
Looked into the Zippers and probably going to go that route! ....but on the other hand WHAT A CROCK OF ****!! This should be a simple cheap part to fix. Yes I know the Zippers is probably worth the investment, but still....
It is a cheap part. Two shoes and a jig to punch the pins is $50 from cyclo on eBay. $20 more with the seals.
I believe that is for the 07 and later models like stated above. They switched to hydraulic cam tensioners in 08.... correct me if I am wrong here tho...
Basically I am going to do my own Cam swap and have 20k on my bike. While it is opened up I plan on replacing some of the things Harley flopped on..IE cam bearings, tensioners, ect... I am trying to get everything in line and ordered up so I don't have the motor cracked open for two whole weeks...

Piece of cake! Did you watch the S&S cam video or the FuelMoto vids. Cam bearings arnt the flop they used to be in the 88"ers.

I have! That is what gave me the ***** to go ahead and tackle the project! I wouldn't be doing this but unfortunately I am 99.9% sure I have a bad lifter On the upside I now have a reason to cam the bike
I also picked up a PDF version of the service manual for $5 online! Its a complete manual with very clear pictures! I plan on just printing off the sections I need and starting a binder...
