I was just wondering how many people that own a Street Glide would think of adding saddlebag rails and having them powder coated..
Seems they would blend with the color and the protection would be there.. also with them blacked out, or color matched, you could add a light rail with smoked lenses and red LED's.. ( maybe a bit too far )
I really think the MOCO should have designed a guard system that complemented the clean look of the SG, I like the look, but a scratched saddlebag is expensive...
Been looking into getting a complete Ultra guard setup and having it coated... I see nowhere in the Wish book are they offered, although I did replace the crash-guard with a black guard, now it looks like part of the frame and not an accessory..
Exactly why I didn't buy an Ultra with all the doodads!
True, but don't you ever think of the expense of replacing that orange checkered sticker? I mean one scratch and WHAM, Daytona turns into Dontwanna... (just kidding BH..)
Maybe it's just ME wanting to add something, Getting a SG when you have the nature to wanna DOO DAD'S... Hmmm...
I don't like those guards , or some of the other clunky looking stuff they put on the FLHTCU , personally I like the stripped down clean look of the FLHX and plan on keeping it that way.
I think it may look pretty good just trying to get a "visual" in my head. A black powdercoated guard rail may catch on pretty well for those that want the things you mentioned......aesthetics with protection.
