Default Anyone having this issue??

I installed a power commander v about a month ago. Bike runs great. The issue I have since this was installed the motors spins several more times before it cranks. I guess it spins 4 or 5 times before it fires. Is this normal? I got the power commander from Fuel Moto, could this be something in the map that was installed? By spinning 4 or 5 times, is it hurting anything? I don't remember the motor spinning that much when I had the Vieds on the bike.

Thanks

Call Jamie at Fuel Motto he will answer your questions. I will tell you he recommends starting it immediately after you turn the switch on. No need to wait for it to prime and let the light go out when using a PCV.

Ditto on this. It's normal for some years and it's ok to start immediately after turning ignition on.

Noticed the exact same thing when I had a PCV on mine. Seemed that the starter cranked 3-4 times before she caught fire.

Traded that PCV in at FuelMoto for a Power Vision (cause the engineer in me wanted to see some data logs, and get rid of the piggy-back for a flash tuner). No more starting hesitation, it fires right up as soon as I hit the button. YMMV.

i think it was in 2007 hd changed the way the electrics worked. if you waited for your cel to go out, the power to the pc would shut off, and then it would have to 'reboot' again and do it's self check function. all while you're sitting there with your thumb on the start switch. the 'fix' for that was to not wait for the cel to go out. go ahead and hit the start switch. it'll fire right up, and it won't hurt your bike.

a lot of people will say that the manual tells you to wait for the cel to go out before hitting the start button. it does not. it does mention that it takes 4 seconds for it to go out, but it does not specify that you have to wait for it.

you don't have to 'crank it before it primes'. give it just a second for the fuel system to pressurize. it won't take all 4 to do that. then crank.
