maybe this has been posted previously, but after a brief search i couldn't find anything.
i have 1 1/2" bars on my street glide (12 1/2" wild1 chubbys), i want to attach the kuryakyn cup holder to my bars, but all the cup holders i find fit up to 1 1/4" bars. i see many of folks having the cup holders, what's the trick for this?
My question is why you would wanna screw up the looks of your bars with a cup holder? Had to ask myself the same question and I chose to mount it elsewhere. I mounted mine on the crash bar in front of the right saddle bag.

If you mount the saddlebag cup holder on the LEFT side, your drink will stay colder, longer...

I like the thinking outside the box but considering that is throttle side, and behind you, doesn't seem the most functional. Unless the ol' lady is helping?
I have mine on the bars. I think it looks just fine. 'Course mine are 1 1/4.
@DewMe Yes the Misses helps out with the passing of the drinks. Like you said the right side wouldn't be the best side riding solo.
@GrandPoohBah I agree with your thought but the angle that it has to mount at to keep the bag lid from hitting its just easier for her to mount it in the right side. That way she doesn't get tangled up in it and bring us all crashing down.
i would either have to get the crash bars for my saddle bags, in order for me to do this.. street glides don't come with the saddle bag crash bars.. so i'm still stuck in the same place i was in.
i think even mounting the cup holder on the crash bar on the front of the frames would be ideal, although they are 1 1/2" as well..
I know you said you have the kuryakyn cup holder already. Not sure if there is anything available for that particular cup holder. I'm probably gonna order one of these cup holders here before long. I have 1 1/2 Buky Bars on my Roadglide. I ordered the strap clamp by itself for my iPod holder (which I already had), and it works great. Used the smaller of the two clamps and it holds tight and doesn't turn or slip.
That's my .02 cents worth. I love the ram mount systems. I use them at work, on the bike, anywhere I can put em.
