New member here. Finally parked the 03 Fatboy and got the new 2014 Street Glide Special. Can't believe how much better it rides!
Wondering if I could get some suggestions on upgrades as I have not owned a Touring bike before.
Especially interested in pipes, mini apes, tuner, and seat.
Will post photos when I figure out how to do so!
best thing to do for your money is go to a bike night or other event and see and hear what other guys are using...narrow down what you like ( and don't).
most dealers have a "fit shop" which can help you try different seat and bar combos, again to see what you do and don;t like
that way when you spend, you do it once for the stuff you like.
some riders end up buying 3 or 4 sets of pipes before they find something they like...
there are differnet types of tuning devices- read up a bit and see if you need $130 VIEDS, $900 Thundermax or something in between.
Base your choice on what matches the mods you plan for your bike.

congrats. on the sgs great bike i did the same thing made the change from a fbl to the 14 sgs, the ride is like night and day but i must say i did like my fat boy and still can't believe i made the switch. Guess it's all about the ride, looks and comfiy. I have the same thing going thourgh my mine. Tuner, seat, and pipes. Seat and pipes are the first on the list for sure. I must say i just can't get enough riding time out of this bike i just don't want to get off it. Enjoyyour new bike and your upgrades.
