Put a C&C solo with backrest on my 2002 bagger last year, loved it BUT could not reach the stock bars with my back against the backrest. The fix....Krrome werks +2 bars
C&C has an extended bar for the backrest. It is about 1 1/2 in taller that the regular one. I have made 3in taller backrest mount for my neighbor. It is just flat stock. I am attaching picture of mine with 1 1/2 extension.

yeah, i'd need more than 1 1/2....AND.....I would like my backrest to also be closer...not just taller

I had the same problem but it is a easy fix.
Had a friend with a machine shop use flat stock, made it higher and more of a bend towards my back.
I'm 6'1 and it fits perfect

Booch what is "flat stock" .....man, I wish I had a friend who who could do this. That's why I'm keeping the seat. If I can get about 3 inches taller and "who knows" how much of a bend towards me. Did you use a completely different piece of metal to make it longer?

If you look on your backrest where the upright goes in behind the pad, you will see where it can be unbolted and removed.
Any welding shop or machine shop can use 1/4" x 1.5" steel flat stock to copy the bar that is there now but in a longer length and bend it to your required amount of support, then weld it to the bracket.
I know that doesnt sound very clear but if you look at it you will see what I mean. It is a pretty simple piece of fabrication for someone who knows metal work. (not me, but I had it done)
I'm always being asked about my saddle. C&C was the only one that would make mine in something other than the standard black. I wanted something different. But I'm only good for an hour on it. It is hard and my pansy butt gets numb. I'm thinking about sending it back for the gel or having Mean City Cycles do their magic double foam thing. Haven't made up my mind there yet.
