Not a big issue if you go over on the mileage.

What dealer do you use?
I was on vacation in Italy a couple of weeks ago and rented a RoadKing at the dealer in Florence.
Good people there, very accommodating.

I suggest making it a point of honour to put on as many as possible!

Dealer hasn't touched mine since I bought it. But when it comes to records..I have none since I've done my own. If your worried about it, just have them do it.

  • The first service is critical and essential. There's much more to it than simply changing the fluids in the three holes.
  • You have a 2-year warranty. If the dealership screws it up, then there's nobody else to blame - and THEY have to fix it!
  • It's in your best interest to establish a working relationship with your dealership and its service department, should issues arise later.
Truth is, there are good dealers and bad dealers. If you have a good one, stick with them - and if you don't have the $$$, time or know-how, let them do the work for you. Otherwise, find a good indy and make a new friend.
I'll agree with both of these. I've gone this route with my bikes while still under warranty. And yes, a little pricey as the 1000 mile service on the Harley is about 300.00, but I also paid that much for my suzuki for it's service needs.

We flew from Boston into Rome and spent 5 days there, then took a train north to Tuscany region, Siena-Cartona and spent 7 days at a villa on a vinyard with 2 other couples (friends).
We drove to Florence one of those days and rented a Road King. It was $150 euro for the day.
After Tuscany, we took the train north again and spent 2 days in Venice, then flew back to Boston from Venice.
Had a great time, beautiful country!
We did not go to the European Bike Week, although that was going on the week we were there.

After I picked up my Road King Classic from on base military sales I visited the Sacile dealer a couple of times. Had to have the clutch adjusted correctly and I bought a couple of things from them. Your right, they are good people.

The time in Italy with my bike was to short. I lived in Budoia and used to run back and forth on the mountain road between Caneva and Montereal-Valcelina, sometimes up to Barcis.

Have you joined the local H.O.G. chapter? Have you met Mac McPherson? Just curios.

I joined up with the Green Knights. been a pretty good group so far. They seem to ride a whole lot more than the HOGs. The riding out here is EPIC.

For the most part they are pretty good n Sacile, just extremly OVER PRICED, even for Harley.

You think Sacile is high priced, you should see the prices in Thailand. I'm heading there in November, never shoveling snow again, and have been checking out used bike prices. HOLY MOLY!!!
