I had the same problem and I'm handicapped as in "vertically challenged" & "follicly impaired", mine was too high also. I purchased the shorter smoked harley screen and changed the hardware. Perfect solution.

Make sure your rear shock air pressure is where you want it. (use only LP pump) If it's real low, it will drop the back of the bike causing you to look thru the shield. I notice a difference 2-up also.

I remember seeing the same thing when I bought my 2010 RK three years ago, the top of the windshield was right in my line of sight. I thought it was going to be a big deal, but then I realized that the OEM seat had to go, and I didn't like the handlebars. So, the first year of ownership was full of figuring out what seat and handlebars I wanted to go to. I must have forgotten about the windshield height issue because i really haven't noticed it for a couple of years now.

Give it a while and see if it grows on you before you cut the windshield down or replace it. There may be more pressing changes you want to make that will make a difference.

I am another LRS fan. Have a 17" smoke re-curve on my RK.
I am 5'10" and have a good clear view over the shield and it directs the air over my head to reduce buffeting. Great product.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the great info and advise. I'm going to run for awhile with the screen like it is and see if I get used to it, but am thinking that I may cut it down or get a shorter one sometime down the line. Thanks again.

Same issue here. Just picked the bike up so I'm going to get as much seat time in before I make any decisions.

You can go onto You Tube and see exactly how to cut down a windshield.
You can look at several different ways.

Until you get caught in the rain, looking through a windshield in the rain really sucks too me but I wear a fullface helmet.

Funny! I just commented on that EXACT problem I have with my 2012 Road King Classic to a service rep at Harley. Too bad the windshield wasn't a few inches higher. Only way to beat this is to replace the windshield with a larger one or just get used to it. For the most part I overlook it when I ride, but when you eyes get focused on it from time to time it is a distraction.
