Kittyless headpipe installed
Wazzup everybody? Just wanted to post on my gutted headpipe install/review. The tear down was easy and I was able to leave the left slip on and cross over mounted on the bike, I did however have to loosen the crossover mount on the transmission so I could move it around just a bit to get the gutted pipe to line back up. Swapping over the 02 sensors was cake, the damn snap ring for the exhaust flange was a bitch with no snap ring pliars but I got it with red neck thinking, beer and 2 small screwdrivers, lol. Once that was finnaly accomplished the pipe gave me trouble lining up with the exhaust ports ( got dark in garage, couldnt find flashlight and to much beer) so I started again a couple of days later, the next day was faimly day so bike had to wait. Took me about an hour to put everything back together. Bike was instantly louder (woke my Klockwerks 4inch super savers up) Bike runs ALOT cooler and it feels peppier, that may be because of the xied's and big sucker added with it, overall I am extremely happy with my complete stage 1 for under 600 bucks, its tons cooler and sounds like a harley now. Bike runs great, no codes and sounds happy happy happy. Story over, stay safe everyone.
I got it from fleabay from a seller called mom-n-pop, round 110 shipped to my door from colorado. He painted it with BBQ paint when he was done, cant even tell the pipe was ever messed with cept its black now, lol. An even cheaper option is to drill it out yourself with a spade bit, do a search, there is a thread out there with pics showing how much it gets out, anyway good luck with your pipe man, stay safe..
