I have been wanting a street glide for a long time and finally pulled the trigger this past week. I had a 2010 dyna and love it but it sucked on the highway and i dreaded being on it for long periods of time. So hence the change.

I originally went to the dealership looking at used or a 2013 and after riding the 2013 vs the 2014 and the changes they made to them....hands down a lot better bike.

If I would of bought the 2013....I know as soon as I walked out I would of been thinking shoulda woulda.

I already have a couple hundred miles on mine and havent lost my smile yet from riding it.

Just my 2 cents.

Tanks for the input guys. I have not rode a newer frame one or the 14 as of yet and am in no rush to sell or trade mine. Was just tossing the idea around and will prob just see what I can get a good deal on in the spring. Not sure if my tour pack will even work with the new bikes.

Just got one about 3 weeks ago. If they continue to fly out of showrooms like they appear to be now, I'd be doubtful of any deals come spring. Just no need to hand out any super deals when they've been selling themselves. Especially when that time of year the riding season is just beginning in much of the country.
But maybe it's different in your part of the country. All I can say is that you'll be loving it if you go for one.

A dealer that is motivated to sell should let you test ride both without thinking twice. Then that way you can weigh both the pros and cons of the features of the '14 vs a prior year to determine if it is worth the extra money to you. I'd say if you are looking at a new '13, then the '14 will probably be a no brainer once you ride it.

Stick with what you got till they get the 14 ironed out. I wouldn't buy one right now too many issues and I wouldn't by a 13 because I would be wanting the latest and greatest not long after. Just my .02. Stick it out for a few more month till the beta testing is done!

As others have said, if possible I'd at least take a good, long ride on a '13, and a '14, same model, and compare the two. (Maybe your dealer still has both in the rental fleet...take one 1/2 day, and the other the other half...ride the same route...see what you think). The upgraded forks (49mm, 'clamping' triple-tree) on the '14 are a significant change--at least in terms of design. I haven't ridden an 09-13, so can't advise on their ride. But the '14 is pretty much rock solid.

Funny hearing people say wait until the 14 gets ironed out. 2,000 miles so far and no wrinkles yet.

Traded a 12 Ultra Ltd. On a 14 SGS. Had a 10 RG custom before that. The 14 has taken it to a new level across the board. Awesome is an overused term but it applies here and then some!
