I put a decatted head pipe on my '13 FLHRC & VIEDS at the same time. They are set to .50. Had a couple of decal pops the first day but nothing since. No tuner and no dyno. Bike runs great and sounds good too.
According to Nightrider web site I can go with new mufflers and A/C and still wont need a tuner, not at least until I go into the cams etc. Will find out next year.

Yeah running a little lean usually does not lead to the engine misfiring or backfiring through the intake. I guess... just haven't seen that. Have seen that running too rich.
Just for ***** and giggles check the connector beneath the air cleaner and battery connections if you touched that.
Kinda sounds like the ECM is hiccupping or not getting signal at times from something or getting the wrong reading from something who knows.
