You can get the extended warranty on a Harley that is less than ten years old and less than 74,999 miles. ANY Harley that fits that criteria can be warrantied no matter who you purchased the bike from. That was my understanding when I purchased mine.

exactly , IMO stay with the HD branded ESP , good at any HD dealer , and you don't have to buy it with your bike , run out your 2 yrs of factory warranty then you can buy more if you want , they will even finance it with 0% , at least right now that is the program , bought 3 yrs on my 07 last year and ran me right at $1000 with no tire and wheel , mine has paid for a motor rebuild , y pipe and a starter , saved me a bunch

I think what it was is that you have 90 days to get the new bike plan , after that it is a used bike and you have to wait till your factory warranty runs out [ or with in 90 days of it ] then buy the ESP , and I believe the bike can be up to 12 years old and 75000 miles

I had them. They were very good for my claims. But they dumped Harley. So as far as I know you cant renew there service anymore. They have 0 deductibe and they cover everything Harley does. I would choose them over Harley. They pay the same day of your service by credit card. I wonder why they dumped Harley. Opps too too many claims. lol

You can buy the H-D extended warranty coverage (ESP) at any time prior to the expiration of your original 24-month warranty. It will cost the least amount of money within the first 90 days; it will cost the most amount of money in the last 90 days.

Something to ponder. Extended warranties simply would not exist if they were not money makers for the company offering the warranties. Best advise - do not buy an extended warranty on anything, bike, new home, TV, phone, waffle iron, etc, etc. then when and IF something breaks, get it fixed and pay for it with some of the money you have saved by not buying extended warranties. And yeah, someone will probably come back and say how much money they saved by buying an extended warranty (especially tires) but this will be the exception, not the rule. Again, extended warranties would not exist if they were not huge money makers for the companies offering them.

Wise advice. When I read the warranty and saw the first two yrs are included I laughed out loud. Stupidest **** I've seen.

Near the end of the factory two year warranty I purchased the extended warranty for almost $1600.00. It has already paid for itself with a transmission rebuild at $1400.00 and a new right rear shock at $200.00. I did have to pay a $50.00 deductible for each but now I still have 2 years of coverage left.

This is by 3rd Harley and frankly things happen and they can be expensive to repair. Money well spent if you plan on keeping the bike several years.
I bought my first Harley [my 2005 Ultra] used at a dealer, and decided to buy extended warranty [esp] as it had 107,000kms on it, and i didn't want to have payments and then also be faced with big repair bill [engine grenade or transmission rebuild]

i have put on 40,000 more in 3 summers, because we get from November/December to April. I haven't had any major breakdowns, but still feel i got my moneys worth, I have had 3 bigger repairs that i can remember A transmission reseal/Motor mount, 1 rear tire/ cruise control roll off cable/ speaker, and this year stator/alternator, so i feel it was a good idea and for the peace of mind while traveling

On my next bike I will make the decision again based on mileage, cost and conditions.

Cheers Ultra

My extended warranty is in my tool box. I use it when I need it.
