How much was your extended warranty through Zurich?
Cost was $2454 for 5 years which also covers wheel & tire. It runs about $300 more than HD plan. However, if you have warranty issues & take it back to dealer where you bought bike you do not have to pay the $50 deductible. If you have to take it to another dealer then you will have the deductible to pay. They aren't concerned about tuners etc like HD can be.
So you can buy an extended warranty at the end of the 2 year factory warranty? Cuz last month when I bought my new bike the dealer gave me the literature and said I had 90 days to decide if I wanted the ESP or not.
My dealer told me I had 2 years before I had to decide whether or not I wanted ESP. Being a first year model with a lot of new things I elected to buy it at the time I bought my bike.
The service plan brochure from HD states: "For new motorcycles, both the Expense Reimbursement Package and Optional Tire & Wheel Coverage start the same day as your factory warranty. The Mechanical Breakdown Coverage begins the day after your factory warranty expires. All coverages continue for the life of the contract. For used motorcycles, all coverages begin the same day the bike and service contract are purchased."
if you buy a new bike and the 7 year plan, it is 7 years from date of purchase. the first 2 years runs concurrently with the factory warranty.
I had them. They were very good for my claims. But they dumped Harley. So as far as I know you cant renew there service anymore. They have 0 deductibe and they cover everything Harley does. I would choose them over Harley. They pay the same day of your service by credit card. I wonder why they dumped Harley. Opps too too many claims. lol
I don't know where you heard that Zurich dumped Harley because I just got an ESP from them 4 weeks ago.

It's 90 days at that price quote. After 90 days you have to pay the full price for a used bike ESP, not the new bike discount rate.
You have 2 years from the purchase date to buy an ESP, remember that it's the purchase date, not the delivery date.
If they start getting to many claims they will file bankruptcy and come back with a new name. Best bet is get a manual, some friends, you tube and work on your own bike.
I've read through out these forums about those who have used the ESP and how much extra the Dealer found wrong while in for "XYZ" repair. I wonder how much was really wrong when the repair was initially fixed? Meaning are the dealers making up additional repairs so that Mother Harley will pay out to them? Just wondering....
Well there are adjusters for the warranty company , and they approve or disallow things on a case by case basis, so I would doubt that a dealer will say something is wrong when it isn't, because they will get caught eventually.
