This is one aspect of XM that is beginning to annoy me and could lead to me not renewing.

It is costly but very convenient. If you are a long trip rider it's the best option. I have a friend who has such an extensive library of tunes on his ipod that he can take a week trip and listen to a different genre each day never repeating a song. Not many of us have that tho. To me it's worth it being in the desert out west and diverse tunes the whole way.

I have a huge CD collection to choose from, just copy to my thumb drive.

I've had XM before there were only a couple of stations that I liked. I wouldn't buy it again. An Ipod on shuffle is like a radio station that only plays song you like and if one comes up you don't want to hear you can FF past it.Sports, talk, weather my stock radio has weather band and all that other stuff is on AM and FM if you really want it.I listen to talk radio at work but when I'm on the bike I want to rock an roll.

I have a plug and play portable receiver I use and play it through FM. Bought it back in 2004, when Howard Stern signed his contract, for less than a hundred dollars and purchased the lifetime subscription for $299. More than paid for itself. Love it.

2. just before your sub expires, call them and tell them you want to cancel
3. if they don't refer you to customer relations to try and talk you out of it, go ahead and do it...
4. if they do transfer you to customer relations, they will offer you 6 months of service for about $25.00
5. if they didn't, and you actually did cancel, you'll either get a phone call or something in the mail offering you that same deal.

so basically for the last 2 years, i was paying $25 every 6 months for service. i have now actually gone ahead and completely cancelled it now since my wife quit work and isn't driving her car everyday anymore.
Excellent, I will go this route. I do have the XM module on my '14 SGS and do use it daily for the news and comedy, sometimes listening to the R&B stations as that is my preference. With the long trips I regularly take XM is great for me so I'll keep it, expecially at only $50 per year. Well worth it at that price.

Default XM

After my free 90 days is up I will not keep it. Had it in my truck since they began and dumped it a couple years ago. Still have it in wife's Jeep but only pay $55 for a year ( she likes satellite). I either listen to commercial free Pandora for 3 bucks a month or thousands of songs that are mostly favorites on the thumb drive. Not an FM radio listener as I cant stand commercials.
