Default Corbin experience - Good

I know Corbin seats seem to be a love/hate relationship. And I've seen that some folks have had poor experiences with Corbin.

I received my new Corbin Classic Solo for my 2012 RK last week. Put it on and rode with it. Great seat, love the firmness, great quality. Too far back and too high...................I was disappointed to say the least.

Called Corbin today, talked it through with them. I have an RMA, and am sending the seat back to have the seating position moved forward a little, and the seat height down.

No issues, no problems just a willingness to make it work for me. I am extremely pleased with this experience and wanted to pass it along. I hate waiting again, but patience is not a virtue for me anyway.

I'll take this opportunity to keep my promise to Mike Corbin.

I ordered a seat for premium price.

the seat arrived hard as heck and butt numbing after 40 minutes.

I called & the Rep said, "don't worry it'll break in, if you have trouble just call us in a few months".

It didn;t get better, and I did call.

at which point they said "too late".

not long after that the seat covering started cracking- again, they denied a repair saying it was 'sun exposure'- well the only time it is in the sun, it is shaded by my rear.
...less than a year old.

so pretty poor experience with the product- and even worse with their Reps.

I did write Mike Corbin when he was still heading the company, promising that I would never miss a chance to share my experience with Corbin- I was hoping that it would have a happy ending, but no.

Mike

I have almost 10 years on my Corbin. At first it was hard as a rock and I'm not sure how long it took but I would order another and just might. I might need something for the 14 S.G.S.
What else compares and looks good too?

Corbin seats are great if they fit you and awful if they don't. Between the wife and I, we've had eight HDs, all with Corbins we've had done at the factory in Hollister. Each was custom fit to us, and each has held up beautifully. A typical day for us is ~300 miles, and we've done 600+ on occasion.

If I had to buy one mail-order, I doubt I would. They are extra-firm, and don't break in much. I will continue to buy them at the factory, though. I have about 25k on my current one, the wife is pushing 30k. Lots of sun on them, rarely use any conditioner, still look new.

Yep, would have loved to go there, just a little far from the Houston area. I probably should have been more patient and gone to their trailer at the Galveston Rally end of October. But, I took a chance and the fact that they are willing to RAM and re-shape is a good thing. I did very much like the firmness of the seat though.

I love my Corbin Dual Tourer. Only problem I have is some of the studs came out. Would get another, but studless next time.

I just got my first Corbin last saterday. Rode in and they let me take it out for a ride before they put the leather cover on. They made a few adjustments and when I was satisfied I rode off on it. Way better than my Mustang vintage solo. Did a 200 mile stretch and when I got off I had zero but fatigue and it isnt even broke in yet!

I wouldn't give Corbin a dime of my money. Too many GOOD companies out there...
