Love my Gerbing gear. Over the years i've accumulated a whole set up of complementing heated stuff. Gerbing gloves, jacket and dual controller. This summer I installed heated bars by Heat Demon and added a heated seat 2 weeks ago. Now I can do into the teens with no problem.
I used Hd stuff until I switched to Warm n Safe. The guy there used to work for Gerbing until Gerbing offshored the controllers. Check out Warm n Safe.
Harley's heated gears also made by Gerbings new stuff made in china has some issues so in case of warranty claim its easier to ride down to the HD shop then mailing the crap back your self. My jacket had crossed wires inside meanings glove outlet warm up the pants and pants will warm up the glove and just took it back and got new one from my local dealer no hassle of shipping or waiting.Make sure test all the outlets from the jacket liner to see proper operation by plugging in the provided on off lit switch in each outlet.
Don't fool yourself. Get the heated gloves and use them in conjunction with the heated grips. The grips only heat the bottom of the hand, the gloves will be there to heat up the top of the hands. I use my dual controller for the jacket and pants liner. The gloves will plug into the jacket liner sleeves, the voltage drop to the gloves is considerable so that is why you want to use the heated grips as well, if you have a heated seat, then you will be toasty warm. Overall I have been a year round rider for the past two years and love it. It can be 20 degrees out and I'm plugged in and sweating by the time I get to work sometimes. I have a 35 mile commute all interstate so it's COLD with a 65 mph wind chill! I also have two pairs of leather bib overalls, one thick and lined and the other thin. So late fall through early spring I use the heavy pair and rest of the year if needed the thin pair. Be WARM Be SAFE and RIDE all Year!
