all i can say is that Harley should have put these on from the factory.... what a huge freakin difference. MUCH MUCH more comfortable than the oem bars, and better hand position as well (for "me" that is).
i DID have to extend the brake lines and the clutch cable for the12" bars. i have them rolled back towards me maybe more than normal, but the clutch cable would have worked if i took it out of the fairing.... brake line... eeehhh not so much it was REALLY tight stretched! i went with the best bet and extended them both, BAM easy solution! I went with a +6 clutch magnum cable and the magnum 2 piece brake line kit.
here's a side view of how far i have them rolled back. not to much more than normal. but it's what fits my comfort level.
Very, very nice look, TeamMudd.
This is too cool! My 2011 SG is at my indy's shop right now, getting the same bars installed (12" Yaffe Classic Bagger Apes in the chrome finish), along with a cat-less header. He says the bike should be ready to pick up on Saturday.
I had the bars fitted yesterday and mine are pulled back about the same as yours - just a tad.
I, too, used Avon grips, but I chose the Custom Contour Anodized Grip:
You are so right. The difference in comfort is like night and day. I should have done this two years ago!

I bought the same grips to use with my +2 Sweepers, but I couldn't get the left grip on no matter what I did. What's your secret, what was I doing wrong? I had to re-use my Kuryakyn grips, I just couldn't get the damn thing to go on!
Nice. I just bought the exact same bars but in chrome but I'm going to do internal wiring. Did you have to extend any wiring at all or just re-route? I was thinking +6 on the clutch and +4 on the brake. Sound about right?
