Man! Don't say that! I just ordered a Mustang Vintage Wide last night...
I think you did the right thing

I test drive both, the Zeppelin and Hammock. Hammock first. Although it was a bit better then stock, it wasn't worth 600 canadian to me. Had really high hopes for the Zeppelin, till i got to try it out. The air bladder is behind and in front of my ***. Right under me, there was nothing. Felt like the padding was lacking to boot. I felt every little stone i rode over. Couldn't get it off my bike fast enough. My stock seat is great compared to it.
But everybody's *** whistles a different tune.....you may love it, for all i know.
They have demo seats. Only way to know is try them
I have a 2011 Limited and demoed the Hammock Seat. It will not work very well with an adjustable backrest. The slit in the hammock seat sits a little farther back than the stock seat. The slit in the seat is stretched and exposes the frame due to the placement of the adjustable seat bracket. I thought about drilling two additional holes that would move the adjustable seat bracket back a little so it would better fit the slit in the hammock but decided not to.
That seat was on a new CVO bike at the dealership with a backrest that seemed to look fine but I confirmed the CVO backrest was not the adjustable one.
Ok Had a 6000km trip to do a few years ago with the boys(Great trip) anyhow after about the first 1000km by butt was on fire I could not take it any longer, just the way I am built I guess. Oh my god I would go on the CB and get everyone to pull over so I could regroup. My Sweety (Wife) bought me a Zepplin for my 2009UC. It is incredible! I did a 1000km straight run just stopping for gas did not feel a thing. I had the owner of my local bike shop who had an older version of the Zepplin sit on the bike and loved it. The great thing is you can adjust it on the fly. Of course not while riding etc...we all know the story. The only thing is $$$ mortgaged the house and sold my youngest. But if you can manage to save your nickles well worth the money.
Five weeks ago I finished a 6200 mile trip on my Ultra with a Hammock seat. The Hammock is very good on trips 200-300 miles, but I've decided if I make another long distance ride again I'll invest in a RZ.
I run the zepplin. I have been on a road trip since sept 19. Ran 300+ the first day and mid 400s everyday there after. I had laid down about 7k with the zepplin and would buy another one. I need to get off after 2 hrs. But after an hr my butt starts talking and I just adjust the air and keep trucking. Ive done 500 in a day and it was a piece if cake. I know a guy who had a ultra and ran 800 one way in one day and he told me he had 0 issues. Zepplin is going to run you some change but if you do long trips imho its worth it. It is a big seat though. Negative for running it on a sg
As far as seating. Im 5'8" and with the stick sg seat I was flat footed with room to speare. Zepplin im flat footed even fully inflated but im using the ***** ofy foot to back up the bike.

This is what my buds say. They trek across country, and often do 600mi days ... never any issues or complaint with the seat, other than the sweat pouring down their back and getting them a nice case of swamp-a$$ heh
I have ridden the RGU like i said, and it seems like heaven. And the ability to adjust positioning on the go with the air, is a huge feature for long days, IMO
