When someone says "Ultra", I just assume they are talking about the Limited. And that is usually the case.

The names of the touring bikes with fairings on them is a mess IMHO.

For 2014, the three batwinged bikes have the names "Ultra", "Limited" and " " (Nothing) on their front fenders. But their actual names are Electra Glide Ultra Classic, Electra Glide Ultra Limited and CVO Ultra Limited.

Clear as mud. Lol.

i always throw in the "classic when we're talking bikes... "Ultra Classic" gives others that don't/haven't seen the bike an idea of what it is.

one guy i was talking to at work said he had a "Bob"... at first i thought street bob, cause i had one before my Ultra Classic... but it was a "Fat BOB" so there's a bit of difference there too.

You left out the Street Glide (the other bat winged bike), which also has nothing on the front fender.

Yikes. Yea I really should have classified that group as "Tour-Pak" equipped bikes. At least the Street Glide doesn't have Electra or Ultra in the name.

Remove the common denominator, the word "ultra", and you have
EG Classic
EG Limited
CVO Limited.

Works for me.

Oh, but remember before 2013 there was a Electra Glide Classic, Electra Glide Ultra Classic, Electra Glide Ultra Classic Limited, and Electra Glide Ultra Classic CVO.....and let's not forget the Electra Glide Road Glide Ultra Classic....

Now get into the model letters and it really clears up...FLHTCUI, which is my model..and it's FL handlebar fairing, classic, ultra, fuel injected....yeah clear as mud!

And yeah, I remember back in the day when auto's had badging that meant something, Classic, Limited, Custom, Super Sport, Shelby, Boss, XL, and so forth...but manufactures saw that cars like that sold well and started putting the names on everything....de-valued and names.....
