2014 Limited Thoughts
Traded my 2010 Ultra for a 2014 Limited on Wednesday. I have to say I am most impressed with the changes that were made. I haven’t had a chance to do a long ride, but the ride home from the dealer is a ride I do often some things I noticed.
It was 85 degrees and traffic was pretty heavy with lots of red lights. On my Ultra by the third light, I usually experienced a lot of heat on my right leg. I won’t say the new bike has no heat issue, but I can tell you that it was not as bad as the Ultra.
I didn’t have a chance to play with the radio before I left the dealer, there are some default settings that I absolutely hate. Once I got home and could turn off the voice prompts for the NAV system and the auto alerts for the weather band those issues were solved. My Galaxy S4 paired with the bike on the first try and streaming over blue tooth works well.
The change from the 96 to the 103 was a huge jump. It seems to pull a from a stop better than my wife’s 2012 SG.
The handle bars are different, have to get used to it, but I think it is an improvement, the mirrors give better visibility.
I was a little leery of the change in the handle bar switches, I have had two Ultras and I was really used to them, particularly the cruise control, but as it turns out I think I like it better seems like it is less likely that I will accidentally engage the cruise (when I was on the highway on my Ultra I tended to leave the cruise switch on so I could just set it when I wanted too. Last Sunday, I accidentally set it when trying to change radio bands. That won’t happen anymore).
Took my wife for a short ride, she noticed that it is easier for her to get on and off. I guess there is a difference in the saddle bag location. She did not like that the speakers were spaced wider, she told me she preferred the feeling she had on the Ultra, in her words, “I feel like I am rattling around back here, the Ultra fit me better”. But she said other than that it was better.
I miss my Mustang seat. Hope they have one soon.
I like lights, and was sorry to see the rear turn signals change, maybe someone will come up with something to fill the holes in the filler pieces in the rear. The headlight on the other hand is incredible.

Good to hear that you like it. I bought one as well, but I'm not able to ride it until my shoulder heals from my accident. Mine just sits in the garage looking pretty
My wife commented that the seat is a lot wider than my SG one was, and it will take some getting used too (shes petite), but other than that she love it as well.
Can't wait until I can ride mine!
