Ok, so I've decided to buy a de-meowed head pipe off eBay. Now do I have to buy a programmer? Will it cause the O2 sensors to throw trouble codes or cause the check engine light to come on?

No, you'll be fine. But a tuner if you're changing the intake though.

The stealership already tuned it when they put a breather and slip-on on it. Does this make a difference ?

Nope. I think the only thing you'll notice is a cooler right foot and a slightly louder exhaust.

I didn't tune mine at all, I have a k&n breather and VH slip ons with no problems.

Wait a minute. If the dealer installed an air cleaner and new mufflers, and told you that they tuned it, then it sounds like you already have a fuel management system, aka "programmer", installed, which is a good thing.

IF that's true, then go ahead and install your cat-less header and don't worry about it. You're good to go.

More likely just stage 1 download. Ya may get away with that but nothing beats a proper tuner and tune.

I just de catted my stock pipe today, if anyone is interested. I will take 120 plus shipping from Ft Worth Texas...trap door reweld complete gutting!
Can sell with heat shields and 02 sensors for plug and play for 175
