Stupid question, what would the taxes be on that thing? I always wondered what one has to pay when they win Harleys.
Depends on your taxable income and filing status. This site http://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphi...unts-and-more/ will tell you how much in taxes a person will pay based upon taxable income and filing status. The OP could look at last years 1040 to get an idea of what his taxable income is (if there haven't been any major income changes in his life the past year). Sales Tax depends on the State. In Washington, you pay the sales tax when you register the bike so if you won it and sold it to someone else without registering it there wouldn't be any sales tax.
Remember that there will be about a 30% income tax due on the wholesale amount. Not to rain on your parade but you need to know. Possible state taxes also. At least the tax is not on retail it is the value of the cost from the company which is wholesale.
Lucky you. Put the damn car outside under a cover or take the bike you are trying to sell and put it on cosignment at your local HD stealer until you can figure it out. I only WISH I had your problem. Good luck man, stay safe out there.

Yeah, good luck enjoy the bike.
Good thing he lives in Nevada, a state with no income tax. Or is that State income tax they dont have there.
Good for you bro! Anyway.

You could always donate it to a worthwhile charity and deduct the retail value from your taxes. Or not.
Great idea. You now have an opportunity to really make a difference in someone's life. The value of that bike can be deducted over time as a charitable contribution. Consider the possibilities.
An update...first of all, thanks to everyone and the compliments. I just got home a little bit ago and I'll give you an idea of what happened at the dealership. On the purchase agreement they show the purchase price of $19,689. I had to pay the freight at $435.00 and set up at $987.00 for a total of $1422.00. I didn't have to pay sales tax as that was part of the promo (the dealership payes it). The only thing left for me to pay is registration and of course the income tax for this tax year. But, as some of you already stated, it's a free bike so screw the taxes. According to the purchase agreement the total out the door price including sales tax is $23,280.57 (if you were to buy it at this dealership).
As for the bike, pretty nice changes and additions to the 2014's. The two biggest changes I like are the integrated brakes and the saddlebags (those are really nice). Just one hand to pop open. There is a little lever on the back side of the bag and all you do is pull it up and the lid opens right up. Very nice!!! The new 103 definitely has some nice pick up, even in stock form. I think all you'd need to do to wake it up even a little more are cams and exhaust (of course race tuner and stage I).
