BTW - My bike only lost its coolant after prolonged stop-and-go low-speed riding in traffic, followed by immediately parking the bike and turning it off. It has happened twice to me. It NEVER happened in normal riding. I suspect none of the ride reviews we've seen thus far included this kind of riding, and that may be why there has been no mention of the phenomenon in the write-ups.
Steve
I was riding on the freeway at about 75 MPH in 70 to 75 degree temps. Pulled off the freeway into the dealership. No traffic to speak of.
Sorry about the flaming I am about to do but to all of you that say "my dealer said they have not heard of or only had one bike puke fluid", come on guys and get real do you really think the dealer is going to tell you they have had a lot of bikes puke fluid when they are trying to sell bikes and if the MOCO found out they were spreading the word don't you think the MOCO would punish the dealer, just saying
My sentiments exactly. I've had multiple dealers tell me point blank, "compensators don't fail these days", "warped rotors, one in a million might and then it's rider error". Well what a bunch of crap.
My 2014 Limited has only 1300 miles so far but I've had no coolant issues. I asked the service manager at my dealer about this awhile ago. At that point they had sold only 10 Limiteds and one puked right away. He said they replaced the filler neck and cap and that fixed it.

I hope yours NEVER leaks, but mine didn't do it until around 1380 miles. What worries me is I've read of people whose bikes leaked, they supposedly got fixed, then rode another 1500 plus miles until it puked again. That's why I carry coolant because I don't trust when it may happen again.

Yes, I've been following your ordeal in other threads. I'm glad I haven't had the issues you've had. I hope mine never leaks as well. Just trying to add a data point to the discussion.
Whatever the % is, I'm sure HD will get it sorted. They probably need to get some new overflow bottles or caps. It's not rocket science. What's puzzling in all this is that there are far more complaints here about coolant issues than clutches and they did a recall already on that "non-issue" for most.

Yea, the whole clutch recall think took me by surprise. When I got the Recall email, my first thought was, "finally..." Finally, they are going to fix the leaks/pukes. Very strange to find out the recall had nothing to do with leaks.
Get real some of you disbelievers. This is a real problem, we are not lying about these problems as I read that some dealers are suggesting. If you paid $30,000 and the damn thing pukes the coolant and the dealer tells you they have never heard of that, you would be pissed too. I have the feeling MoCo is not worried about this. I will tell everyone in my local HOG group to walk away from the 2014 Limited. I read where some are saying the answer is to carry extra coolant and I guess I will since you never know when its going to puke.

Feedback that I have received from my dealer is that the factory is very concerned. They know from experience that the filler neck and radiator caps have been the main issue but realize they need to find the core issue. Harley's reputation is riding on a fix. They have a lot of engineers that can and will work this out, if I am wrong on this I will be eating humble pie, I really think we will all be OK in the end. Sooner than later

First of all, I am very thankfully, I bought a 2013 Limited before the 2014's came out. Manufacturers, always have issues, on "new first issue products". No matter, who the manufacturer is. That's a given. As far as the recall, that was a safety issue with the hydraulic clutch. Hence the SAFETY recall. That was a liability decision, to do the voluntary " Safety recall", before someone had an accident / further accidents. The coolant issue, is a mechanical issue and not a safety issue. Hence, no safety recall.
