Finally got the wretched laced wheels off my bike. Swapped on a set of cast 07 SG wheels for the time being. Bought Commander II tires (130 front/140 rear) and cannot begin to tell you the difference the wheels and tires have made. I think the spokes on the laced wheels were getting loose and everytime Id lean into a corner, even if slight, it felt as if the wheel shifted.

Congrats,
thats the 1st thing I did when I bought my 1st bagger. The cast aluminum feels different than the spokers, but its nice not having to worry about tubes. And cleaning is much easier. I don't know which model, but a bunch of the fuggly road sofa's came with those wheels from OEM. They look sharp.
I totally agree and many of the indys i talked to said the cast wheels are better for aggressive riders.
I had to replace the rear tire anyways so i figured why not finally get the wheels changed as well but i was hoping to find an 18" cast front for cheap to swap on before i did these but Im happy for now

Looks good. I have 5" stretched bags & a fender cover on my Limited Ultra, and I'm considering doing a SG front fender & new wheels. Thought I wanted all chrome, but the black & chrome actually looks pretty good.

I did the same with my 2009 Ultra Classic. Removed the lace wheels, put on 9 spoke black ice wheels (page 689 in 2013 parts/accessories book) with 888 Metzelers and it was like I had a new bike. Much better ride and control. I have a vivid black Ultra.
