Something else to consider is a Mobile Warming jacket liner. Just picked one up from Competition Accessories for $162 delivered. Haven't tried it out yet but the the reviews I read were all good. This liner had Tourmaster tag on it, it is powered by rechargeable lithium ion pack with controller included. Unit has 4 settings, highest temp will last 3 hours and lowest temp will last 10 hours. Battery and controller are smaller than a pack of smokes and plug into a cord in front pocket. I bought this for the bike and for hunting. Bought my regular size and it fits perfect. There is an available larger battery pack that will double the time of operation. Will let you all know how it works.
I've used 'Warn and Safe' produced liner and gloves for 5 seasons, no doubt this product is made in the USA. Dual controller powered by Cigarette Lighter or Battery tender option, which I use.
+1 for Warm n Safe. Way hotter than my HD/Gerbing. And its packable. Comes with a stuff sack. Packed correctly it gets down to a size of a 32oz gatoraid bottle.
gerbing is the way to go! My jacket liner is 18 yrs old and still keeping me toasty! I also have a heated vest & chaps liner made by widder that still work great.
Gerbing makes good stuff, I have one of theirs. The HD stuff used to be Gerbings with a shorter warranty, but that may have changed.
Other options are Powerlet, and Warm n Safe. Both are very well made, I have a Powerlet too.
All three have hook ups on the sleeves to connect to heated gloves or glove liners.
Powerlet is also your one stop shopping for connectors and plugs. They have kits to mount hook ups on the horn, the handlebars, the rear crash bar, and even kits to flush mount them in the dash or wherever you fancy.
My next purchase will be a wireless dual controller. It keeps the amount of bulk down and stuff hanging off you.
Heated gear is costly, but the first time you use it, you will wonder how you did without it.
