I've used the search function but not finding much information on the air baffle that mounts on the bottom of the triple clamp. Do these things force more air onto the engine or less? Do they really help with the air coming up that blows my shirts in jacket up towards my neck when using my windshield? Negatives or positives? Thanks.
I have one on mine, added it about three weeks ago...from J&P Cycles.
I will say it reduces buffeting, stops the shorty helmet lift and I can feel the air drafted down on my calves. I ride with a perforated jacket mostly so I have not moved to my winter leathers yet and cannot speak about that issue. For a $30 price I will say positive so far....
I picked one up as well. I figured for $30...it's one of the cheapest HD branded add-ons I could do to help with buffeting. I'd say it works okay, it does deflect some of the air that comes up around the gas tank. It's better than without it. Haven't ridden in the rain with it on yet, but I hope what bzb says is true. That aspect alone will make it worth the expense!
That's good to know. I got caught in a good rain a couple weeks ago for the first time with RK when I actually had my windshield on and I was surprised how dry I was. I was soaked from the knee down but not bad up top, crotch area was damp but not soaked.
