How do you know that??? I have yet to have the rear cyl shut down and my "wet head" gets no where near as hot as my old "nut roaster". I would think that riding in 98 degree heat in Florida would be hot enough. I have only noticed the fans turn a few times at red lights since I bought the bike (I reach down and check a lot out of curiosity).
Sometimes I have to check to see if I am on the Harley forum. It sounds more like I am on a Honda forum. So many people spouting off about the new twin cooled as if they know the way it is when they really don't know ****. I take that back, after thinking about it they don't talk nearly as much **** on the Honda forums . Not as many "experts" over there as there are here I guess.
For those of you who don't like the new twin cooled bikes you don't have to and you can ride what you want. In contrast I am not going to criticize your bike as one thing or the other even though unlike most of the "experts" I have owned both. Too bad others here who feel threatened don't feel the same.
Three things:
You need to switch to decaf.
The EITMS system lives on in the 2014 wet heads. (Why?)
I ride Harleys not Hondas because I like them alot more.
There are a ton of people on the Harley forum and yes the '14 does have some issues but do we have a few "trollers" stirring the pot? Always some in every crowd and for what its worth its entertaining but also causing some bad feelings toward "OUR" brand and the new '14's which are light years ahead of the bike made 10 years ago and a very good product, IMOP!!!!! Seems like we should be focusing on the fixes to the issues instead of beating up on Harley for the issues. Alot more positive direction in my mind to go,,,,,,,, haters wont like this direction tho, LOL.
The issues I have heard of are easy fixes,
1. coolant leaks, radiator caps not on right or not indexed right causing the overflow to get too much coolant in it and then of coarse the engine would possibly get air sucked back in.
2. Infotainment issues, crackling fm/am sound seems to be an update can fix this problem.
seems we might want to focus more toward a positive thread then a negative one...... After all its our brand we all will defend at some point RIGHT? ride safe, paul
I don't think its so much hating on the 14s (at least not from me) as it is people being rightfully upset that HD would put out a product that is so clearly not ready for prime time.... Your point about focusing on the fixes is fine but what a lot of owners of the 14s seem pissed about is the fact they shouldn't have to focus on fixes for a brand new bike.... They shouldn't need to be fixed!!!! Theres no way HD didn't know about these problems before they pushed these bikes to market - theres just way too many problems being reported for them not to show up in testing... They knew there were issues but they sold these bikes anyway rather than delay the release. Im 100% certain they'll find fixes for everything and these bikes will be great for years to come... But in the meantime there are a lot of owners with bikes that are in the shop instead of on the road.
..boy..some of the posts these days really crack me up...
..calling people who don't drool over 14's haters...is no different than calling people racists..cause they don't agree with Obama...childish...it's where we are headed as a country though...guess I better get used to it...

Obama. The most overused word in the world...
Politics belongs in the political forum. I guess you'll just have to get used to it.
