Default A "How To" Question

I am putting a tour pack on my FLHS. The two front bracket mounts for the rack mount via use the shock bolts. I don't have a lift, so am worried about pulling a shock bolt out, as the bike may drop down when the bolt is pulled out.

Does anybody have a suggestions, or should I just bring it to the shop and let the pro's deal with it?

They use the upper shock bolt? Well if that is the case, I would just do one side at a time. The other shock should still support the bike.

One at a time and you should be fine.

Yeah, I have swapped out shocks on many different bikes and one shock will support the bike. Maybe have a friend over to help lift/push the fender up/down to make aligning the bolts easier.
