Default Roadie replacement

Anybody hear anything, any rumors from your dealers as to what the Road Glide replacement is to be or if it will be? Mine gives up nothing.

one rumor has the re-introduction being moved back to a 2015 and-a-half year model. would not be surprised to see the radiator built into the fairing and possibly a fully water-jacketed motor. the moco could really step up the performance with a full water cooled motor. the acceptance of the 2014 models has taken many people by surprise--look for the parent company to offer many more water cooled models in the next few years. i doubt if any dealers know what and/or when the RG will return.

It is conceivable that HD delayed the Roadie to see how the waterhead was received. Given the reception, as in can't keep 'em on the floor, now they have a mandate for full water cooling. The motor foundation is already there. Plenty of room in the fairing for radiators, I mean heat exchangers.

Ultimate touring indeed!

Nobody knows.

But I concur, and have said myself since the Rushmore announcement that I'm sure the RG will come with a full water cooled engine.

I'm sure they are trying to figure a way to get the big screen in the fairing and be user friendly, as well as the radiator somewhere....

I had an 11 FLTRU, and the stereo was tough to reach, so I did everything from the bars.

I hope they don't put radiators in the fairing but down low on the frame or in between the saddlebags. That would be cool.

The rumors I've heard are anywhere from V-rod engine to introduction of a completely new water cooled engine based on the air cooled look.

Whatever is going to happen is sure to be something!

.......... whatever they do, i hope the 'big screen' isn't reachable while on the road
.... the Road Glide esthetic demands an inability to push buttons on the fairing while riding

......... besides, you'd wipe out half the RG threads if ya couldn't complain about 'not being able to reach the radio'

Wink

The most likely rumour I have seen is they are due to be launched mid-2014, everything else seems to me to be more like wishful thinking or pure speculation! I could understand if it is delayed, simply because the 2014 models seem so well received, despite the nay-sayers, why confuse customers with even more choice!

A V-Rod in an RG or any other form of full water-cooling isn't going to happen in the foreseeable future IMHO. Much more likely we will get an RG similar in concept to the old one, but with integrated 'heat exchangers' plus the new (I refuse to call it twin-cooled, what a daft name!) engine is very likely.

I also suspect they are slaving away in a darkened room sorting out the coolant issue, so that may be another reason for delaying the new RG. Far better they launch it, fanfare of trumpets, with an improved Mark 2 version of the new concept engine.

That's my take on the subject, but I can be persuaded otherwise!

I think they are teaming up with Toyota and building a hybrid
