I asked in the tech forum but no response so I thought I'd try here. This just started yesterday. When I turn the ignition on the my alarm flashes for and will not let the bike start and seems to take a bout 10 to 15 seconds before it quits flashing then the bike starts. Is there something wrong with the alarm or does this possibly mean my fob battery is getting weak?
This is exactly the reason to learn to over ride your security system, in case that happens out in BFE, lol.
Well that is all it was, new battery and it kicked over immediately. They come in a 2 pack at Walmart, the extra is in my saddlebag and I also realized I always have an emergency one in my garage door opener. I do know how to override the system, it's a pain in the *** but I did practice it one day. It's kind of nice it will actually work on a low battery still, gives you a little notice before going completely dead.
Do you know how to use the override/by pass? Did you even know there IS one?
If not, read your manual, set your pin and learn how to use it! I'll use mine any time I walk out in the garage in the evening to do something on the bike, and have taught my wife how to do it as well....it's saved our butt a time or two!
