Got 1800 miles on mine and it works flawlessly but I guess that doesn't mean it cant go at anytime. Got the call from my dealer today also but told them I already have an appointment at a closer dealer, they said that was ok but did tell them that the vin # I gave them says there is no such #?? Checked my reg. and it matches the bike so give them a call to confirm.
Got to laugh at all the non 14 owners making fun of all this. I think in all reality they are wishing they could afford one in the first place. I personally don't care what my 14 is worth next year or ever as at my age and income it will be the last motorcycle I will ever own.
Their may be a recall, and no ride order, but their sure isn't a no sale order. Was in Ft. Myers Harley today. Every time a bike is sold they go crazy and blow horns on the bikes in show room. Happened 3 times in about hour that I was their. Asked one of the salesmen about the recall, his response.....what recall?? Then he went on to say it was probably just an internet rumor.
I guess if you bought a new 2014 that was covered by the recall, they wouldn't be able to deliver it to you until they made the repair for the recall.
So should everyone that has bikes already that need repaired and all of the other new ones be put off so you can get your new bike a whoping one week sooner ?
Drop everything let's find this guys bike and repair it first and overnight it to him!!!!!
now I'm confused. First its 'rebuild the master' then its check the 'clutch plate' via primary check cover.
Any dealer/tech's out there with the scoop to let us know?
Guess the main issue is air leak in the system.
Ferd
according to DAWG in a previous post above they are 2 totally seperate recalls.
Thank you ....you took the words right out of my mouth
I was just expressing my disappointed I was hoping to enjoy my new ride for a week before the surgery but I can hobble out to the garage on my crutches and look at it lol.
I ordered a SGS 6 weeks ago, it came in Monday the 14th. I added many extras. Went to the dealer yesterday a gave them a cashiers check for $ 34.5 K. They said the bike wouldn't be ready until today. Got a call at 11 to come get it. Got there at 12 only to learn I could not have my bike due to the recall. Now they have my money and I got nothing but my old parts while my bike is parked at HD. I hope they don't put me on the backburner now that they have my cash. I think I'm gonna ask for a loaner on Monday. What would any of you guys do?
I feel like Charlie Brown now.
