Dresser duals, monster ovals and PCV here. Love the sound, as far as my *** is concerned no/zero loss in power and she barks!!! You will NOT regret them. Fit and finish superb!!!
Dresser Duals, Twin Slash.........but please buy what your ear likes!!! Too often, I see ppl buy, based "only" on our opinions and then don't like them. Take our opinions, but please try to listen to them on bikes. My partner has Power Duals/monster ovals.....I didn't care for the look of PD, so I bought DD. I feel that we have the exact same sound and so does he.....but that's "our" ears.
If you are going with the Power Duals, you may as well just gut the cat out of the head pipe. Very little difference between gutted stock head pipe, and Power Duals. The looks and sound of the Dresser Duals outweigh the nominal power difference. I have Power Duals, and wish I would have went with the Dresser Duals.
Thanks for all the great comments. I was leaning toward the Power Duals, however I agree with those that like the looks of the Dresser Duals. I have also read that the Power Duals can drag on a tight right turn. Additionally on another thread some have commented that the Power Duals favor exhaust flow to one muffler causing discoloration on the metal. I have until November to take delivery of the bike so I have a ways to go. Leaning now to the DD's.
Dresser dual with High Outputs. Awesome sound. Dressers duals look way better IMO. With good tuner almost no difference between the two. Good luck on your search.
I had both true duals with big shots, I have the power duals now with the monster rounds, I like the sound a lot better when cruising, and as far as one pipe getting a little discoloration, I can't see it when I am riding. I like that I have a little more power when two up. I have dragged one time and it wasn't the pipe, it was my floor board.
I've ordered a new 2014 SGS and will have V&H Twin Slash Rounds installed with Screamin Eagle intake. I'm trying to decided between the Power Duals and the Dresser Duals. I've read posts on the forum that give differing opinions on the sound and performance differences between the two. Any comments would be much appreciated.
The Power Duals will sound better than the stock head pipe with Cat in. If you remove cat not much difference in sound. The dressers will definitely be louder. One thing you didn't mention is the tuner you are going to use. You can probably do without a tuner with the Power Duals as they don't change the stock flow much. If you go to the True duals or 2 in 1 You will need a tuner as they will need richening at low and mid range or they will pop. An acquaintance had RCX 4" and gutted cat head pipes and ran fine without download or tuner. Put a 2 in 1 on and it is now popping pretty bad. I asked what tuner he had and he said a stage 1 download. He said he is happy with it that way. Didn't bother to tell him he probably wouldn't like it when the chrome turns blue at the entrance to the muffler. May not but bet it will. A tuner will allow you to run any setup you want.
