My G5 burns through jet fuel like trailer trash through Velveeta. I had to cut my assistant's salary in half to cover the price increases. It's a never ending battle against the man.
(just wanted to jump on the high roller bullsh*t train too)
Sounds like the OP is bragging, not complaining, about his car toy.
And to the most relevant question posed by many, who gives a **** and why is this thread even allowed to stay in the HD Touring forum? Seriously?
Come on Joe. Your signature contains a lot more "braggin" then about anything else I've seen on the touring forum. Don't bother me.
Also, it's kinda cool to see a thread every now and then that is expanded to include info from the other sides of our lives. Gets kinds boring seeing the same old stuff.
Get yourself a cheaper car to maintain or buy some tools and get handy. Saying that the regular service at the Porsche dealer is too expensive is like saying "I was mauled by lions at the zoo while wearing my pork chop suit".
I know people that own Ferraris, Porsches, BMWs and other high end brands. They take their cars in for service, pay the bill and have no idea how much it was 15 minutes later. That's the kind of money you have to have to drive those kinds of cars. You think the oil change and tire rotation was a rape? Wait till it needs a clutch (if it's a manual).
Ferraris 2012 and later come with 7 years' free maintenance. The dealers pick up and return them in covered trailers. Sure, you're paying for it in the price of the car, but Ferrari is all about customer experience. Just because you have an expensive car it doesn't mean that you like to be ripped off.
My 458 was in to touch up a bunch of paint chips in the rear diffuser, a windshield chip, a scratch in the interior and a paint scratch, ie not warranty work. Total cost $130. Now THAT is good service.
I change my own oil. Then use savings to buy stuff or take the wife out. I can afford to do both but I love to beat them out of their overcharges, plus I know its done correctly.
Ferd
I guess if you own nice cars on this forum, and you happen to mention one, you get chastised. I'm bragging just because I talked about my car??? lol. I should have said it was a Yugo. Funny place this is!
