I am going to look at a 01 Custom and was wondering what a good price would be.
It is in perfect condition with hard and soft bags two brand new black wall tires and two helmets a cover and has only 4700 miles on it.
It also has V&H pipes and stage 2 chip or something like that and has just been completely seviced at the Harley shop. I know the guy and he is straight up...............he wants 13,500 for it........................is this a good price
A bike is only worth what someone will give for it.
IMO with this low of miles, condition, & acc. it haswould make it a decent purchase at this price even though it's on the upper end. When I was shopping for my Ultra I told myself the 02 was as far back as I would go. If I'm not mistaken the 02 has an improved engine.
Only one concern...The Road King Custom was not introduced into the line up until 2004. Is the seller claiming it is an '01? If so, there may be some issues. It may be an older bike that was wrecked and the damaged parts replaced with 2004-up FLHRS parts. Get the vin number and call down to the dealer to check. On the other hand, if it is a Road King Classic, that sounds like a reasonable deal. However, you could by a2007 Electra Glide Standard for slighty moreand have a new bike, if that model appeals to you. Good Luck.
Talked to the guy today and he said it was a 2001 Road King.
He said it was not a custom but he also said it was not a classic because it didn't have it wrote on the the fender like others he has seen..................what was offered in 2001 as far as Road Kings and he also said he just had the 5000 mile service done at the Harley shop .....cost 300 bucks.
He is asking 13,500 dollars for it
Too much IMO, you could do better at a dealer......or online with a newer ride and a warranty. I paid under 16 for an 05 with a lot of options , warranty and 6000 miles .
