I have an 05 RK Custom with the turn signals on the bars. I bought the RG Wild One Chubbys, they have the holes for the switch wires and such but I cant figure out how to route the wires from the turn signals into the bars. HELP!
My little bit of advice is that if you are going through the trouble of changing the bars, then you might consider relocating your turn signals to the front with your headlight. If you don't have the passing lamps then that's how I would do it. Buy the kit to put the passing lamps and turn signals up front like the RL Classic.
Running the wiring inside the bars is a little harder when the turnsignals are on the bars. You will need to follow the route of the exsisting wiring and disconnect them from the junction block and your going to have to lengthen them and then run them inside the bars and re-route them in the center with the other neck wiring and re-install them back into their original spots on the junction block. A lot of work, but inside wiring looks great. You are going to have to do the same thing with all the switch wiring and that is much more laboring....lengthing wire is time consuming and make sure you mark all the wires so you know where they go back to.
Thanks for the advice and help. Im heading out to the garage to dive in now. As far as my turn signals Im not sure I want to relocate them, I kind of like them on the bars. But if I run into too much trouble I may not have a choice. I will let you guys know how it comes out.
Okay I figured out how to keep the turn signals on the bars and hide there wires. I drilled a 1/4" hole in each switch housing and snaked the wire up into them. I think it came out pretty clean. Wow what a difference those new bars make. Check out the photos.
The Garage clean up is on the list but as long as I can get to the bench and have a place to park the bikes Im okay. But next time Im pulling the bike outside for the photos.
