95% of the time it isn't an issue. Occasionally I'll have to turn the controller off then on again, but very rarely.

Wanted to give some input on another option for heated clothing that I recently purchased and tested. I bought a heated jacket liner from Competition Accessories for $162 delivered. The liner is from Mobile Warming and it had a Tourmaster tag on it. The great thing about it,no wires to mess with because it's powered by a lithium-ion rechargeable battery that is included with a controller. There are 4 heat settings, highest lasts for 3 hours, lowest setting is 10 hours. I have been using this at medium setting on 40 degree mornings and it works great. Tee shirt, liner and leather jacket with fleece lined blue jeans and cozy warm. They make battery powered gloves also.

Last year I saw a Harley (Gerbing) liner on sale, 75% off. Couldn't pass it up.
Now I wonder why I didn't do this sooner.

I have taken 3 multi state trips in the last year and very thankful for the heated gear. 9,000 ft elevation in Utah when its raining = cold. My Gerbing liner under the rain gear is all I needed. Toasty warm.
I did spring for the Warm&safe remote controller. After the first trip of dealing with wires I decided to make it easier on myself and get the remote.

Wife will now ride in cooler temps if I let here wear the liner which works well as I have a higher tolerance for the cold.

Bottom line, well worth the investment if you are doing any type of long distance riding where you need to stay on a time line, regardless of the weather.

My local HD doesn't carry much, as a matter of fact I have never seen heated gear there at all. So is it cheaper to go to a HD dealer or directly to Gerbing?
Thanks

A few more hundred on Extreme outer pants, socks and you will be a very happy camper. The collar of the jacket liner comes up high enough to catch the strap of a helmet. Include a FF or FF modular and life is oh so good.

I prefer the insoles over the socks, but that's me. If anyone's looking for a pair of size 12 socks, let me know.

I shopped around and ended up going to the dealer. I get a 10% military discount, and I really wanted to try the stuff on before spending that kind of money. Suprisingly, dealer was cheaper than online, and I wore it in this morning!

I bought tourmaster heated pants and jacket liner 5 years ago when you couldn't find a HD Dealer that would carry this stuff at least not in Virginia. I had to go to a BMW dealer to buy it. You get a pigtail just like the one for the battery tender so you get your power straight off the battery to the jacket liner and pants liner plug in to the jacket liner.
I never did buy heated gloves the batwing fairing provided what I thought was enough protection. Then I got the limited with heated grips back in 2010. What a complement the grips were to the rest of the heated gear. Like everyone one elses comment once you buy your own gear you'll ask yourself why you waited so long. Trust me everyone is not saying this just to make themselves feel good because they spent a ton of money for this stuff. It really does make a difference riding in the cold.
There must be a temperature that this gear will work but for me my eyes dry long before my body gets cold. That's about 30 degrees before windchill.
