Default Any ideas about a solution?

I've got my RKC with the two up stock seat. About 2 years ago I reunited with my ex-wife and she has put shall we say a little weight. As me and my son spent the summer going to rallies (his first year; with his own bike), and him coming home and telling all the tails of adventure she has decided she would like to go.

I have looked at every kind of seat configuration, including the custom guys I can think of, or find, and nothing is big enough to keep her back off of me when we ride. Both times!

It seems that with all of these seats I always have quite a bit of the rail left. I guess its for Tour Pack mounting? If I could find a wide passenger seat that was as long as those rails, or close to it; I think we would be good. Any Ideas?

As I'm sure you can understand this is a very sensitive topic here at home and we really don't discuss it much.

The seat isn't all of the problem. She needs something to lean on that is further back. Consider a tour pack that has a bracket that moves it back a couple of inches. If she can lean back further, she's not on you.

Just how big is she? We've all seen a lot of really huge ladies riding second saddle and looking fairly comfy. This isn't a "seat" problem, but sounds more like a "health" problem. Whether she wants to hear it or not, if it was my lady love I would be trying to help her get in better shape.

Agreed on the seat as not being the issue. However not seeing the ride I will tell you what I did. I went out and bought a seat that is used on an Ultra, (one that is a bit wider for the passenger) had gel pads put under the covering, and relocated the tour pack backwards using a bracket. The bracket was made by a guy on here named Anderson. I think it was an Anderson relocation kit. If you do a search you will find it. I also did an add on for adjustable pegs with the floor boards to get her legs higher.

That set up gave her more room between me and her, made her butt feel better with the gel, and she is happy so I am happy.

Harley has a new passenger backrest that has some adjustment on the angle of the back rest. Might work?

If her back is on you, have her turn around!

yeah backrest.

if you have rear crash bars, the comfort profile type are lower at the bags. If she has had trouble with the bars banging into her calves, that might help...and allow her to scoot back some.

some pics:

combine with pass pegs at higher setting might make her back up

I have a similar situation, but I'm not so sympathetic. With all of the adjustments maxed out, when she doesn't fit any more, she just doesn't fit. If she wants to continue riding she can take the initiative to make herself fit. When my back gets chapped from too much pressure from the back seat. I'll be solo until the situation changes. Sorry, you don't fit anymore, deal with it.

Install a drivers backrest it will keep her back and she can't slide forward.
