Noise on a 103? Really? Never heard that before. Solution: put a firewall between you and the motor 3 feet away from your ears. Then it will be just as quiet as your cage.
6 years ago I bought a dyna wide glide. I put 45000 miles on that bike without a bit of trouble. Then I bought my road king. In 20,000 miles of riding I have replaced the stator and now deal with lifter noise that really concerns me. The dealer told me that's normal harley lifter noise. Unfortunately I'm not that dumb. I will be replacing the lifters in the ole girl this winter and then bidding a fond adeu to her and harley davidson. The moco is on par to have record profits. I will not be donating to those profits. I do hope in the years to come to put another 07 wide glide in my garage next to the metric I'm about to buy. That was the best year for hd and the last year they made a bike I wanted or was worth buying. My .02
Why?
I'm asking because this winter I'm doing a cam job and going to replace my lifters with Woods, just because that what Fuel Moto sells and I'm buying everything from them. Thanks

How do your new lifters (Woods I think) compare to the stock ones?
You guys want to hear loud lifters......you should have heard my Sporster with hydro to solid lifters and cams etc....85hp. But it went like hell! Would smoke any stock 103 no problem and then some!
Might want to reconsider lifters other than Woods to reduce the noise. I replaced the SE PN 18535-99C lifters with Woods PN WDL-1012 lifters with about no change in lifter noise.

For me, don't really care about the noise, just upgrading to a better lifter.
Got a '12 electric glide with what I thought was lifter noise. Took it back to the dealer. After 3 weeks in shop, I was called to come and pick up bike. I was told they had replaced all 4 lifters under warranty. Bike noise appeared to be gone for about two weeks. Now it seems it's back and maybe even louder. Any thoughts?
I replaced the CAM (TW6-6) on my 2010 FLHTK and reused the OEM litfers.
I did replace the push rods to SE adjustable push rods, and at first there was some noise, but I kept adjusting the push rods, and it have been fine to me since (almost two years).
In your case, if there was no noise after you got the bike from the dealer, and the noise came back later, then something may get loose.
Just an idea!

1 - they are expensive
2 - Bob woods makes them
3 - everything woods makes is noisy
4 - many better and cheaper options

Because it's not the lifters that make the noise generally.
