Default extend and extended warranty?

Is an extended warranty extentable?

2 1/2 years ago I added an additional 3 years warranty on my bike..it will run out this spring. Can additional years be purchased?

Thanks

i heard somewhere that you need to be under 75k to further extend the warranty.

yes, you can continue to extend the warranty until you have 12 years or 75000 miles on the bike.

if you are close on years or mileage just get enough to get you close , you can be at 74500 miles and 11 1/2 years and still get 5 years , it will not run out at 12 years or 75000 miles like a car , you just can't buy any more after that

i didn't mean to make it sound that way (if i did).

another thing to look out for, is the time frame. you can't extend your warranty 'early' to avoid the time run out, there is a small window in which you can buy the warranty. don't remember what it is right off hand, but it isn't anything generous like 90 days....

the way jim palmer explained it to me was that when you extend the warranty, the new one takes effect on the day after the expiration date of the last one, so if you buy a new bike and get the 7 year warranty, then extend it with the 5 year, that puts you right at 12 years. so the new one would take effect 12 years and 1 day, ergo, not eligible. to get the max out of it, he recommended the 7 year first, then the 4 year, then the 5 year. that puts you at 16 years. of course, if you are over the 75,000 miles at renewal time, that would disqualify you.

thanks all for the replies...

I have an '09 and just hit 50k miles.

Right before the factory 2 year warranty ran out, I purchased and additional 3 years, that will expire this spring.

I was thinking that I would like to have another 2-3 years of coverage..
