I have been having problems with my 2012 FLTRX. Sometimes when taking off from a light the bike starts spitting, sputtering and its all I can do to keep it from stalling. After a few seconds it will start acting normal again. The only code is U1016. The dealer has replaced the sensor in the throttle, the pins in the connector that goes to the back of the air cleaner and the ECM. They test drove it after the ECM and decided it was not the problem and took it back out. A few days ago it did this again. I took it back and the dealer said that after a 70 mile road test they could not reproduce the problem. I reluctantly took the bike back and now this morning I could swear that between shifts the throttle cut out again, this time on the highway. I checked for codes and again find U1016. Has anyone else had these types of symptoms with the U1016 code. Oh, and I do not have a Thundermax tuner. I am running the Power Vision tuner.

I'm not sure what the code is but I do know what happens when I attach my PV to my 2012 Dyna. I always get codes for the BCM and Speedo. I think it has to do with the interfacing of the systems. I clear the codes they stay gone until I reattach the PV.
I had a simliar problem last year with my 2012 Dyna. Sputtering at idle, revving high, and sometimes acting like it was flooding with fuel. After 2 ECMs a complete wiring harness the issue was resolved with a new BCM. I don't know if the touring bike have a BCM. Just thought I'd pass the info.
I've seen this U1016 code before but I always thought it showed up when I reflashed my ECM. Now I am not so sure. I have noticed that it vibrates a lot more than it did when at idle. That is vibration is also not consistant. I've put over 20,000 miles on this bike in the last year and one thing I can say for sure is that something is different about the way it runs. I'm going to go ride it at lunch and see if that code pops up again.

If it is doing it regularly you can hook the PV to the bike and do a data log. When it acts up you can view the data log and it will give you a good idea as to what is happening. You will need a program to access the CSV file like Excel or a free program Open office.
About a month ago I was getting the same issue, was going through my neighborhood at about 35 mph & it started spitting & sputtering, jerking back & forth.Didn't think I was gonna make it home & thought maybe it was bad gas, water in the gas, etc.I put a dose of marine grade stabil in the tank(I use this in my boat).Took it back out & haven't had an issue since.I have a PV-5

Reason: addition
[QUOTE=GoofySB;11906345]I hate that feeling, have you tried Pepto-Bismol or Gas-X?[/QUOTE
I'm surprised it took almost 4 hours for a reply like this. LOL!
I like the data log idea. I will try that and see what it tells me.
I went out and road about 30 miles at lunch. It was highway and thru town. There were no problems and no codes. I ride this bike all year and most every day and my next long trip isn't until spring so I guess I'll just ride it and see what happens.
