Is there much difference in the reception of the short antennas and the long stock antennas. I have a broken stock CB antenna and I am thinking about replaceing both antennas with the short ones. I don't want to loose any functions like CB or WB.
The HD shorties are just as good as the stock whips -- and look better. They are not to be confused with the J & M shorties which I tried and lost virtually all ability to send and receive CB and any good reception on the AM/FM bands at marginal areas. Just my personal experience.
I replaced my long whips on my 2007 Ultra classic about 5 years ago. I never noticed any difference in reception of the AM-FM radio. I've never even used the CB so can't speak to that.

I get better reception with the short antennas, make sure you buy the ones with the wire wound around then, you'll notice it under the plastic coat. If you pulled that wound wire straight, it would probally make 3 of the stock ones. Think I paid $25 or $30 for mine, but they been moving from bagger to bagger, I always take them off when I trade up.
