Just built my 107 w/555s. I went ahead and did the heads through bigboyz because it was only 400 bucks ish. I figured why tear this thing down to the block, and spend 1300+ and skip a very crucial power producer... Especially if it's a few hundred bucks. You will be happy with your build either way.... But you'll always know you didn't go all the way when you could have. And tearing it down for the heads is a good amount of work.... Work that you are already going to be doing for the 107... Just my 2 cents.

This combo makes a ton of power man esp on those days where everything just lines up and the bike just keeps pullin.

What did big boyz do for the 400.00? What was the turn around time?

I had them do their standard port/polish and valve job, and had them add compression releases. They do a very nice job. My heads looked amazing. Took about 2 weeks maybe 3 for the turnaround. I just let him know where I was financially and that I didn't want to pay for the extra stuff like skimming the mating surface and cc'ing the heads.

I have a Buell XB12..... With half a dozen Japanese flag stickers on the tank for every metric I've dusted with it but, there's a dude in town with a MONSTER road glide, I wouldn't bet on him against a Ducati, but I've watched him hurt plenty of feelings around here with it. He's a fuelmoto buyer, but I can't remember what big inch kit he went with, I DO know he has a chain drive secondary, and the thing literally sounds like hell on 2 wheels.

Congrats man, they have many happy campers........
Enjoy that bad boy.

Will be curious how much of a difference is "felt" going from the 103".

I know had I kept my 96" the 107 would have been a must, but the 103" in my new one has me pretty content, minus cams of course.........

Yea. I know it happens, but that guy probably has 30+ grand in his bike. 15,000 for a sport bike that will dust most bikes. How much do you want to spend to make your touring bike into a rocket? :-)

well.... I don't have bottomless pockets, but maybe $7500 tops, I figured I have a good start with the stock 103"...... the 120R is tempting, but thats the top of the budget for motor alone, no room there for extras. 110" SE kit is tempting, but I don't think I'd get any better results from that than I would with the FM107 with some big *** cams and some head work. Maybe I'll just drop an El' Bruto 140 in that bitch and go straight evo again!

I do agree about heads being important. I wanted to do it in stages for 2 reasons. One to see what difference there is between the 2 setups. And two for cost. I am over $2500 just for the 107 build right now. I needed headers, power vision and also air filter. I am not worried about pulling the bike apart again. That is what I do. My garage is completely setup to build motors. When I do the heads I was thinking about upping the compression a tad and going with the 777 cams. But I want to take it one step at a time. I love hearing about all the happy customers with the 107 engines. So many guys have built them many different ways and everyone loves them. Can't wait to get mine done. Mine should be a very big difference due to my bike is stock with slipons and no tuning right now.

For those of you who have used the auto tune on the PV how well do you feel it worked? Do you still think it needs dyno tuning?
