Default Will Different Headpipes .........

change the "tone" on the bike, or is it all in the slip-ons? I'm running Power Duals on my 2011 Limited Ultra. If headpipes make a difference in sound, which ones might produce a lot deeper & bassier tone? Not so concerned about performance. My bike goes fast enough for me. Main concern is the right "tone & loud" for me. Also, I have V&H High Outputs on the Power Duals. Thinking about switching to Rush Big Louie Slash-Ups to match the lines on my stretched bags & fender cover.

Headpipes can affect sound a bit, but the big factor is the mufflers.

If you're already running TD's, and you like TD sound, I wouldn't change them...

Find a muffler that produces the sound you want.

Thanks. I'm satisfied with the Power Duals. If headpipes don't make much difference in sound, I'd keep them when I do the Big Louies.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but what are those shorty antennas you are running?

Default HichJack cont...

Antennas look good; if the one for the CB is not tuned correctly, you risk potential damage to the output transistors (finals) in the CB... just a thought...
...back to your regularly scheduled programming..

There is a difference in loudness between true duals and the x-pipe you have now. Change the cam and there is a completely different sound.

I have the V&H dresser duals with the twin slash rounds. Last year before the cams they were nice and deep. Good sound. This year with the cams they are a lot louder. Nice deep sound while cruising but too loud when you really get on it. Not obnoxious loud like having V&H big radius but here's your ticket for having fun loud.

You should get more sound from true duals vs power duals.

Thanks for the tip, but I don't use CB or listen to radio. It's all for looks. All Ipod. I have a Sony head unit with the Biketronics kit, and can't use the CB anyway.
